Watch Grading Criteria

 

At Collected by Betti we offer a wide variety of watches to suit different budgets, preferences and taste.

All of the watches have been purchased via another party, meaning each watch is pre owned. However the watches will range in a variety of conditions and suitabilities. 

To make buyers aware, and make choosing a little easier, we have created a grading criteria (see below) to help you understand the condition of the watch you are purchasing.

Please ensure prior to purchase you have read the below criteria. No refunds are issued for purchases where buyer “isn’t aware” of the grading criteria.

 

 

Grade 1- New

These watches have never been worn. They may contain some/all of the following; original box, original papers, manufactures card warranty, manufactures stickers.

Grade 2- Very Good

These watches have been worn only a handful of times. No significant marks/blemishes to the watch but may have very minor scratch/wear & tear to the case, caseback, bracelet, dial and/or crystal. May have slight wear if a leather bracelet (common even after being worn once.)

Grade 3 - Good

These watches are ready to be worn but may contain signs of wear. This may include noticeable marks/scratches on the case and/or may have wear to the case back. Minor wear to the bracelet, may also have began to show signs of discolouration on any plating.  

Grade 4 - Worn

These watches have considerable wear and have visible imperfections. These watches may contain significant wear to the crystal (scratches, chips), wear to the dial, wear to the case back (scratches, chips, dents) wear to the case (starches, dents, chips) discolouration to any part of the watch and wear to the bracelet/strap. Please note watches graded “Worn” may have some components which are damaged (e.g leather strap) which are functional but changes may be advisable. These changes are of the cost and discretion of the buyer. These watches are still running, however they may require a service to get sufficient accuracy.

Grade 5- Requires Attention

These watches are unlikely to be running and will require a service. May contain missing parts (e.g strap, winding crown etc) and will require some attention before its ready to be worn.
